About
Dan
Music has long played a central role in my life, ever since my first piano lesson at the age of 6. I have studied with master pianists, won music scholarships, medals and awards in competitions, been a multi-instrumentalist and played as a principal bassoonist in orchestras, as a composer had my work performed in public by professional ensembles, developed a wide knowledge of musical repertoire (including a specialism in film music), mastered studio and recording skills, received a music degree from Cardiff University, and performed in some wonderful venues. Below, you can find out more details about my background. Being a teacher is a wonderful opportunity to pass on what I know and love about music and the piano, and help others find and express the music in themselves - so I look forward to you getting in touch! Best
wishes, Dan
(Goodrum)
Composer Composition has long
been a passion of mine with a particular focus on orchestral and film
composition. My early love for creating music led me to composing
several pieces for film at A-Level, one of which was chosen for
performance by the Gloucestershire University Symphony Orchestra with
myself as piano soloist. The final year of my
music degree, I completed several pieces for a portfolio, one a piece
for accordion and clarinet that was performed by the CHROMA
ensemble and the other a suite
for large orchestra, chorus and soloists. I spend part of my time
composing in my small studio setup.
